FixOnlinePC.com Windows7 Upgrade Benefits
The new Windows7 taskbar: One of the most visible changes in Windows 7 and is similar to the new MAC OSX. The Quick Launch toolbar is gone. A user can now pin or put applications to the toolbar (Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer are here by default) All open windows of a certain application will be grouped together under a single icon. A user can hover over this icon to get a thumb nail size realbtime view to each window, with a feature called Aero Peek. This may take some getting used to, but it organizes the windows better and allows a user to change applications more quickly and easily. It's a time saver in the long run.
A very neat feature is the Problem Steps Recorder: This tool is a life saver for many technicians and users who are trying to pint point a certain error that happens every so often. You can record problems that are happening and show it to a technician to help them fix your problem. Simply open up this program and click record and try to perform the anoyying error again. Tracking of errors with screenshots to assist a technical support representative in troubleshooting your issue thus saving them time searching for duplicating the error themselves. This tool sure comes in handy when used.
Hardware Device Recognition: Windows 7 comes with much more software drivers by default thus making it easier to add your old and new hardware withouth having to search by the chipset or model numbers on the actual cards and hardware. This makes it easier for users who do not have their drivers CD on hand.
Less Restrictive than Vista: Windows 7 features fewer pop-up notifications and permissions while trying to add or remove porgrams or make changes to certian areas of admisitration. Windows 7 has the action centre to centralize messages pertaining to security statuses, Windows Updates, and User Access Control of their system and account.
What is Aero Snap & Aero Shake?: These new features of Windows 7. Aero Snap allows a user to take an open window and drag it to one side of the screen and snap it to take up half of the screen side by side. This is like having two monitors side by side but Windows7 does this on one monitor screen. Doing this with multiple Microsoft access, word, or excel documents for example would allow you to view two open documents side-by-side. Aero Shake allows a user to grab an open window and shake the mouse back and forth, doing so hides all other opened windows except the one selected. Shaking the mouse again restores all hidden windows in place. As computer monitors and laptop screens continue to grow in size and users work flows into having multiple windows open at one time to be more efficient, we see these features being a convenient way to organize ones work. This takes a little getting used to but over time it is a huge time saver.
